When it comes to pricing a lot of companies are using different method of promotions to induce their customers. These types of promotions should be happen sometime, but not on a regular basis.
You are wondering what is wrong with promotions. Well, let say everything; for the company at least . It may be advantageous to the customer, and may be advantageous to the company in a short term basis, but it is not beneficial to the company’s long term success. Why Marie? The “sell” hype your company receives for that moment could not cover the long term damage you are creating for the company in the long run.
Constant promotions devalue the company’s product/service; reduce profitability, and confusing customers. Normally, the client gets confused because she doesn’t know what to expects. Let’s face it, who would want to pay full price for any item or service when you know in a week or two you would get a better deal, except if you are desperate, and cannot wait?
Instead of devaluing your products by ongoing promotions, you should find ways to create value to your products or services by educating your customers, and give them reasons to pay for your services or products.
What do you think? Leave me a comment, it is always good to hear from you.
